Since 1971: We began selling wallpaper in 1971 by importing and distributing natural wallcoverings from Japan and Korea. We put together a collection called Marco Polo Grasscloth, which we offered to designers and wallpaper stores. In 1976, we opened our first wallpaper store, Discount Wallcovering, where we sold all types of wallpaper and brands. In 2001, we went online with discount-wallcovering.com, which we later renamed discountwallcovering.com (with no hyphen). Discount Wallcovering is now a second generation family business.

Our Name: We are price competitive! Hence the name, Discount Wallcovering. A common misconception about our discount wallpaper, is that "discount" simply means "discontinued". We add new patterns, from recently released collections, all the time. Another misconception about our discount wallpaper is that "discount" indicates "2nd quality", whereas we buy only 1st quality wallpaper so that our customers get wallcovering that is guaranteed to be free of defects. And perhaps a third misconception would be that we deal in only low-end wallpapers. Rather, we select and offer the best in terms of design, quality, and value. Sometimes the best is inexpensive, and sometimes the best is pricier, but our goal is to be extremely competitive either way.

Our Commitment: Over the years, we have sold millions of bolts of wallpaper and border. Many innovations have come along but one thing has never changed - our customer always comes first. Our mission is simple: to see that our customer is totally satisfied, and, when possible, to exceed our customer's expectations.
